We're drawing on over 25 years of Drewby expertise to dive into all aspects of Drew's world, from her personal life to her professional career. Thanks to our sponsor and friends at Positive Medium, I'm Ann. And I'm Ashley, and this week we are doing AQ and A for the first time in a very long time.
In a very long time, yeah. This was like, I think the last time we did one was probably when we were doing it weekly maybe like. Yeah, it might have been. You know, and we have had four before this and guys here, we're back. We're back with your cues. We have the cues, we have the A's, and this is going to be a very whole heavy episode. Yeah, kind of hole meaning the band hole. There will also be lots of holes in this episode. If you're into that kind of thing, you're in the right place. Yes, yes.
But let's start up, start at the top. We've got lots of various things before we get into it, so let's start with. Well, we have a little Patreon update. We just want to say hi and thank you to our new member at the $5 level big timer. That would be Eric. So thank you, Eric. Eric Erlinson, maybe this is our whole heavy episode. No, it's probably What kind of shit are they talking about me on Patreon? I got to find out and Speaking of Patreon, we are working on going through Wildflower and we'll be working on chapter 3 very soon.
So if you're not already there, make sure you go over there. You probably heard the ad a second ago, but. Go over there patreon.com/patreon. OK, so let's get into some other stuff. Can you tell me what Drew has proclaimed her love for recently? I love, love. Not too many this time around. I like this first one. Drew loves a dry cat. What she means by that is someone with a dry sense of humor. But I just such great wording. Yeah. I like it, she said. She loves a Tabasco. Which I was surprised wasn't on the list because we have all kinds of like hot sauce and spicy foods and stuff.
But that was the first Tabasco and then also this one surprised me. Drew loves Texas, which we've known, you know, since she was with Luke Wilson. I don't know if she loved Texas when she filmed Bad Girls there, but she definitely loved Texas after that. So and. By the time they did whip it, she loved Texas. Right, I always forget that. Whip it, it's coming back there. Oh my gosh, that's right. So she's filmed quite a bit there and she keeps saying that she had a house in Austin, but we don't know anything about that.
Yeah, like we just kind of were like surprised by that information relatively recently. So OK, let's move on to the druism of the week. I feel like we haven't had one for a minute. We sure haven't. You know those cool little isms that we do? Because it has been so long, I was kind of excited when she said this, but I also felt for her because she's like going through some serious perimenopause bloating. Yeah, and I love that. She's being so transparent about it like she is. I saw another episode the other day, not this one, where she stood up and like showed where her like belly was on her pants like really pulled it tight.
She's like, this is what I'm dealing with. Yep, I saw that. I know and I love because it's just cracking everyone up and she's just like. That is so real, she's frustrated with her body. Clearly. So let's listen to her talking about that. Today, without being honest because I can't fake anything. OK, go go there. I am so bloated that I feel like some carp that got brought up to the. Beach. And I'm just that dead. Fish, though.
I love the face she makes, like puffing. Her I know I wish we could like show the face in the podcast, but we're just audio guys. Sorry. One day, maybe video. But it's good. It's, it's a great druism we had, we had missed it, Drew. Yeah, we sure have. OK, so let's get into the first of the many, like whole mentions that come up here. Let's go into the kind comments corner. So sweet. OK, we have a lot to say about this and this is going to be like how we how we get into it. But we'll start with the comment.
This comes from Melissa Aftamar, who was the bass player of hole in the like mid to late 90s, I guess. And she and Drew had a wonderful connection during those times. And I just love how she described having Drew around during this era. Me too. Meanwhile, there's this starlet Hollywood starlet in our midst, which was very exciting for. Rocky, I didn't see myself. Well, you were. Very exciting that's I mean you were like to have you this beautiful Pixie Stardust around us. Oh God, because when Courtney would enter the room, I'd be like, OK, here we go.
Let's. You know, we love, we love her being referred to in any way. Pixie Stardust. Beautiful. Pixie Stardust So seems like like a Melissa thing to say too. Also, yeah, we can gush for a minute about this. Oh my God, like interview and appearance. It was so awesome. It was so good, like their connection, like they both immediately were kind of in tears seeing each other. They had so much to relate to each other about as moms, which was so cool. Yeah. Then because Melissa has always been like, quite the shutterbug, she brought so many photos from like 9495.
Holy shit. We've just losing our minds over the years. It is so. Cool. So freaking cool. Also I feel like I was surprised knowing like how close they were. Like, I don't think I had really gotten. I don't know. I hadn't known that. I don't. Think you know, there's that one interview that what's his name? Nardwar. Narwar, Yeah. Nardwal. Nardwal. No, I think it's Nardwar. I think it's Nardwar. Yeah, that he did at Lollapalooza in Vancouver, where it was very obvious that they were like had a close friendship.
I'd like posted a clip of that not that long ago. And then what was the other reason? Oh, when she goes back to Letterman after the flashing, so the 1 immediately after she says that like she's like, oh, Mel here with me or something like that. So. But yeah, you're right. It's not I I don't think we heard about it that often. It's not nice talked about in interviews. But it was so sweet. They were very tender with each other. Like it. Yeah, it was. I just wanted to be like in that sandwich like.
I know. And I thought that this was really interesting, like, because I don't know that Drew has ever spoken about like, the kind of what was going on with the band when she came around, when she started dating Eric. But she, you know, she actually, like very clearly said, you know, Kurt Covena just died. And Kristen Faff, the original bass player, had also just died of an overdose. I've never heard her talk about this. Yeah, I don't think I realized those were like close together. Oh, OK. Like in time.
Like very close. It's crazy. So I just thought it was really neat. I mean, not that it's a good thing, but I've just to hear her talk about that, which is so new. She's never done that. And then also, I loved how she and Melissa were talking about how there was all this death and darkness around the band and they sort of felt like this almost like responsibility or like honor of like bringing light to the group. So cool. That is really cool, our little picks a little beautiful Pixie Stardust helping bring the light to this dark place.
So cool. Oh my gosh. So I do have her memoir, like I'm on hold from the library. I already like, kind of searched. There's not that many mentions of Drew in it. But she also has a photography book coming out later this year and that that is going to have Drew. Yeah. I'm excited. Cool. All right, so before we get into what's other things that are new, we're going to go back in time a little bit and see what happened this week in Drew History. Again, another whole hole. We're going to jump into April 1st, 1996, so you know we're already on board with this.
That means black haired Drew is around us. Yeah, yeah. She attended the premiere of the movie Primal Fear with Courtney Love and Eric Orlinson. Little whole sandwich she was in on the red carpet. So she was there probably to support Edward Norton. They had just filmed everyone says I love you. I think that makes a lot of sense. And notably, this is the last time that she was ever pictured with Eric. So this is like what we kind of use as our, what would you say like guide, like a host of like. Like a book, not a bookmark.
Like a book end. Yeah, like this is a bookend. This is when we think they broke up soon after this. It's also only two weeks before she went and filmed Scream, which is really interesting to think about. Weird. And the big thing was like all the media. Like I remember MTV had a segment and a lot of magazines made a big deal out of the fact that Drew and Courtney both had dark hair and they weren't blonde anymore. Famously blonde, right? How many clippings do we have? But I feel like doesn't Courtney Love say something like in the like when they're walking the red carpet like I. Think she says we're much better behaved as brunettes or something like.
That that sounds familiar. That sounds familiar. But of course, like clippings talking about it. But yeah, people who are like, famously blonde and have been and then suddenly like, coming out as these, like, dark, like goddesses. Totally. They almost look like they kind of coordinated their outfits, like they're both wearing black Blazers with silky cream. And flowers in there. And the flowers in their hair, yeah, that's really cute. I realized how similar their entire outfit was. But that's a great poll.
I always love A961996. Will come up again a little bit later. I'll tell you that now. All right, OK, so let's get into what's new with Drew. Here we go with the news, everybody. OK, I feel really vindicated with this first one. So way back in April 2025, on the podcast, we reported a guess, a hypothesis that Drew was going to have a cameo in a movie that was coming up called Outcome, directed by Jonah Hill and starring Keanu Reeves and Cameron Diaz. Because Matt is, I always forget, is it Matt Bomer?
Is that how you say his name? He is also in the movie and he like was on Drew's show and very quickly you would almost miss it. Said like, oh, we just filmed a movie together and we're like, I remember. You pointing that out, I do remember this discussing this. So I was like, what did he just film? Oh, and when was this filmed? Oh, Drew was in LA. You know, put the pieces together. And yes, it's true, she is in the movie as long as well as lots of other people. It's like got a huge cool cast. So it will premiere on Apple TV on April 10th, which is very soon.
Oh yeah. The trailer is out now and you can see Drew in a very short moment. Like we have no concept of how big or small her part is. I don't even know. Like he's playing like a fictional movie star. So you're not sure if she's playing herself or a character? No one else seems to be playing themselves, so probably not. But yeah, it's they're in this like, beautiful golden light and they're just sitting, her and Keanu sitting together, talking about babes in Toyland. I was. Just gonna say Babes in Toyland reunion.
I'm like, they've come a long way from singing Cincinnati in a not Jeep. In a in a in a film that was randomly filmed in Germany. So fun. So I guess next episode we can probably report on it. That's crazy. Yeah, good point. Cool. So good. Like little detective. Work like a year ago. Very proud of myself. Yes. OK, so this next thing is really exciting. I'll go ahead and take this, I guess. Yeah, it's been a while, I feel like. So there's a new magazine cover feature with our girl on a magazine called Rue, which I've never heard of, but it's the spring 2026 issue with a feature of Drew's upstate New York home.
The photos are by David Englehart, and they're really cute. I'm have you gotten it yet or? No, I need to get to Barnes and Noble. I had a dream about looking for it, but but you know how we've been like dealing with trying to find magazines lately. It's become a very depressing and arduous task. So I'm I like confirmed with them. They say they're at Barnes and Noble. So I'm really crossing my fingers. So that is true and that they have this issue. I hope so. Please pick me up a copy. I will. I was going to.
I was going to suggest that I do that. Yes, Yeah. We only get a few pictures of Drew herself, but I loved that there was like so many tattoo peaks and all of them, we love a tattoo. You're getting all cozy in her home, but you have a funny follow up to this being her home like. This is so weird. So the whole feature there's like dozens of pictures of the house, this really cool article talking about how she found it and blah blah blah blah. As of yesterday, it's being sold. I like randomly came across that info today and I'm I'm like having whiplash because like, do you think she did this magazine to to feature the house?
I don't know. I don't. I don't feel like she would do. That I don't either. But I know that's the thing with Architectural Digest, like, well, a lot of times people know that couples are gonna get divorced when they get featured in there. They're trying to get publicity for the house before they split up and sell it. Whoa cuz it could be like featured in? Our digest, Yeah, the video that I found for the listing literally says like Wall Street Journal featured home because the Wall Street Journal had an article about it, which is behind a paywall.
Hi guys. Just a quick editor's note to say, we have a little quote from the Wall Street Journal that explains Drew putting the house up for sale so soon after purchasing at. She said that the overhaul they did on the home took longer than they anticipated. And then during that time, her family's needs had changed, leaving them without this need for the countryside sanctuary that that home provided. But we will say a little bit more about this home. Enjoy the episode. But I was able to find the listing for the house and it's, I mean, it's sure as hell Drew's house.
Her, her stamp is all over it. The the best part? I found something so exciting. Yes, I. Know, so I'm looking at all the pictures and I'm like, oh, there's a there's like a family member picture. Oh, there's you know, Dolores Costello. Cool. And then I see like, oh, there's John Barrymore on the mantle. And I zoom in a little more, and right next to this picture of her grandfather is the picture of her great aunt Ethel that we gave to her for her 50th birthday. Yay. I can't even believe it. Like, shocked and amazed and honored.
I got very, like, touched about it, just seeing it on such a, like, right in the middle of her fireplace Mantel. How cool. Is that, I mean, if you guys don't know, we've been lucky enough to spot things we've given her in previous home photographs, particularly Carson Terrace. But this was cool to see. Yeah. It's like one of the coolest things is for us to know that she's been able to, like, really appreciate something you've given her. Like, I mean, you know, we're giving her stuff of her family.
Like, we're just kind of like, tugging at her heartstrings. Like, it's not surprising, but it's also like, wait, that's us. We. But you got to think how many gifts is she given on the regular? Hundreds I'm sure. And to know that like we are getting it right to the point she's like displaying it in a prominent place in her home makes me feel like we're doing good. We did a good job with that birthday gift. Yes. And we had no idea where we're going to come across this. We Ashley, did not know we were going to find out Drew was selling this house.
That she just featured like all of this was a surprise. As of today, as of a couple hours ago. So thanks too for enjoying our gift and totally baffled about this house sale and. Yeah, great find. Thanks. All right. So lastly, before we get into the Q&A, there are two new episodes of Hollywood Squares that came out last week. Last week and the week. Before. OK, so the 15th and 16th episode of Hollywood Squares have been released. I have watched them. They're great. OK, let's go through the bonus round facts.
These were both pretty random, OK #1 true or false? Drew owns a hot air balloon. False. I liked I sent you like a screenshot of Drew's face when the person was like, gonna say true or false and she had a look on her face like, you better not think I actually own a hot air balloon. Yes. And then true or false, Drew has been arrested for shoplifting False and like it almost. I almost could believe it like when she was like 12 or 13. But I think we would have known about that by now. Right, I guess.
Did she get caught shoplifting or is that just in the movie? See you in the morning. Oh, yeah, you're right. It does happen. And maybe that's why I'm like, I bet it could have happened when she was 12 or 13. Yeah, it's in that movie. It is, right? Yeah. But I don't, I don't think she was arrested anyway. Yeah, the answer is false. The answer is false. Yes. Hey Druby, we are here to tell you about our website hosts, Positive Medium and they sponsor the podcast. That's DREW. Visit our friends. Over at positivemedium.com. Thank you. OK. So are we ready to get into the questions that have been asked by some of our listeners? Let's do it. Let's do it. OK, so you have kind of sorted these into categories. So we're going to start with questions about Drew's career. It's always kind of fun for us to just like, I don't know, spitball some of these things, right? OK, so the first question, do you think appearances by Luke Wilson, Bill Murray and Tom Green on Drew's show are any indication any of them may appear in the new Charlie's Angels film currently being written?
I, I mean, I don't know. My thoughts are I have no idea. It would be exciting if like maybe like one of them would appear, but I doubt it. From that list, I could only see Luke making any sense. Tom Green obviously has weird feelings about Drew because he unfollows and follows her on Instagram, and he blocked us for unknown reasons. So like, I'm like, he's still working through something with her. Yes. And Bill Murray wouldn't. No, I don't think so. But I could see Luke coming back as Pete. Yeah, that would be cute if our angels are truly going to be in the new one, which I believe they are, but I we don't just don't know and.
There's, we don't know, Yeah. And that leads right into our next question was, which was I wonder if there's any news or updates to producing the upcoming Charlie's Angels movie. So yeah, we don't know anything that you guys don't know yet other than the little hints and clues that we've previously reported on. We've told you guys before. We spoke directly to Drew about it, and she, without saying it, pretty much said it, but like, they're doing it. So I would be very surprised if she's not involved with just that conversation we had directly with her.
Right. Right. And then recently, Lucy was on a red carpet, and during an interview, she said that she and Drew and Cameron had just had lunch together. So hopefully that's a good sign, too. Yeah. I mean, we're hopeful. We're very hopeful. And we've like they've said for years that they want to do it. And now it's just a matter of us like getting the official confirmation that that that it is happening, that they are doing it, you know, all that stuff. But basically, we know we it's very, very, very likely that, yes, that Drew is producing it and in it.
OK. So next, in your opinion, what are the odds that Drew will make a return to the horror genre in a lead role? That's a fun question. I don't know. I would say I see her next lead role or even like large role, either being one of two things. Something super like expected like an Adam Sandler movie or something totally out of left field like maybe a horror movie. Like I don't think there's going to be something in the middle. I think it's going to be 1 or the other I feel. Like, I feel like I could almost see her doing a horror movie like, many years from now for some reason.
I yeah, I don't know why. Like I can see her doing it like as an older woman or something. You know, did you see Uma Thurman on the show this week? She like, she's promoting a horror movie that she has like, an interesting role in. And I was like, I could see you're doing that. Like, you're totally right. Like later on down the line, I could see her doing just something, just wanting to do something so different than what was expected of her. Right. But I guess I don't know if it would be a lead role.
I don't know. I'm not really sure. I don't have like a lot of instinct here, but I I don't know, I mean I. Feel like genre people would love to have her back in the game, of course, like she did so many interesting genre movies early in her career. And then, you know, aside from the smile to cameo, which I don't think really counts, It's been a long time. So we'll we'll say we hope. How about that? Yeah, OK. I like this question. Did Drew keep any outfits or props for many films? So she has actually spoken about this quite a few times, and she says that she really almost has never saved anything.
And she seems to kind of bemoan it, which I'm like, yeah, girl. Like that's why we're here and that's why we are preserving her legacy because she doesn't think to do it. We're doing it for her, yeah. Yeah, she does of course, have the red cowboy hat that she wore as Gertie in ET. That's like pretty much the only major, you know, identifiable prop. She's also mentioned once that she saved this like random tape dispenser from He's just not that into you. That was like, I think it was on her desk as a prop and she really liked it.
So. She asked. She could keep it. But like, I don't even know if you can see it in the movie. That's funny. And we know she has a couple wigs. Like supposedly she has the Full Throttle hot dog on a stick wig and it was reworked into a 51st Dates wig. Supposedly. Supposedly, yeah, but yeah, that's about it. So we I'm, we have more from her movies than she does, truly. Yeah, I like that question, though, because I like thinking about it. I love when people say that they, like, saved something from a film.
I know. Oh, my God. I just thought of the like, who was it that came on her show who had taken an, like, a paper towel from her house? Leslie Bibb. Not a paper towel. It was a yeah. That was hilarious. Yeah. It was really fun. I love. And I think that we Drew must have said this. I'm pretty sure she said it was one of the towels that she bought for her wedding to Tom Green. Yes. Remember how all the napkins were, like, thrifted and yes, like a vintage thing? Yeah. OK, so the last question in the Drew's career category, where to watch Ever After please?
So it is currently streaming on a few platforms. It's on Disney Plus right now. And also you can rent it from Prime Video for 299. Just buy the DVD and have it around. Yeah, or it's Blu-ray. The Blu-ray has a really pretty, like very different artwork on it that I don't think I've ever put it in my my Blu-ray player, but I'm sure it's exactly the same as the DVD. Yeah, probably. They never spend time on making those things cool anymore.
No they don't. Sadly, a thing of the past. Let's get into some stuff about Drew's life. We're going back diving head first into the whole hole. So this question was, does DB ever talk to Frances Bean Cobain anymore? And remember when this came up earlier this year when she did that show track star on YouTube, it was the first time forever that she's mentioned being Francis Bean's godmother. So. But we do have reason to believe that Drew might have attended Francis Bean's wedding in October 2023 because on Francis's Instagram, she has like little photo dumps.
And one of them is a picture of Drew at a table with a rose in like candlelight. And it looks very similar to one of Michael's Stipe take that she posted soon after the wedding. And we know he officiated the wedding. So I feel pretty confident that Drew did go to her wedding, which is really sweet. It is really sweet. I love to imagine it so much. I love to imagine their relationship even though we know like yeah nothing about it. Like I know, but and also like, oh it this just hit me. What a neat full circle thing.
Because she was the flower girl at Drew's wedding to Tom Green. Oh. I forgot that, yeah. That's really cool. So yes, we believe they are in touch, which is very nice and makes us feel warm and fuzzy. Yeah, it really does. OK, so then more we're still in the whole hole. What do you know about Drew's relationship with Courtney Love? Why aren't they friends anymore? We get asked this a lot. So we have like a theory about how Courtney had like acted out at Drew and Tom Green's wedding. It's kind of funny you just mentioned.
That three times in like 5 minutes. Oh my God, according to Tom's book. And she like heckled Tom's dad during a speech and made like some loud and rude remarks. And as far as we know, that's the last time that we have like, any evidence of Drew and Courtney being together. So like that it's for me, it was kind of like went hand in hand, like, oh, maybe after, you know, this is per Tom Green's book. We don't know. This is all allegedly. But maybe after she acted like rudely towards Tom's family, maybe Drew was like ready to take a break from her.
And that break continues. I was very interested to hear the really cool things that Drew had to say about Courtney when Melissa was on the show. Me too. I mean, there was not at that time, especially in the 90s, which was really the onset of so many male oriented bands. There was not this woman, this force like Courtney Love. I mean she was jaw-dropping when she walked into a room. You were blown back. She has such a for such a presence and an intellect that can slay the most smartest dragon you've ever met.
Do not ever mess with that woman on a book or a subject or a historical or an art. The woman is the most well read person I've ever met. She is brilliant. I love that little aside. Yeah, it's so. I mean, clearly Drew still has respect for her. And I don't remember if you noticed this, but Courtney did post recently because like Courtney's all of a sudden on Instagram again and she's like very active on there. And she reposted a video of Drew on Watch What Happens Live where somebody called in and said tell me a crazy story from about.
The thing about the like them going to a door and be like my face is the backstage pass that thing. Yes. So I kind of love that Courtney, like, posted that recently. I don't know. I would not be surprised at all to find out that she was going to come on the show. I think that would be a win, win for both of them. Like publicity wise, so many people, we get asked this a lot. Like so many people are interested in their friendship and what happened. Why did they lose touch? Yeah, people would be tuning in for that.
So my fingers are crossed that that happens. And I think Melissa's appearance could be like the bridge to that. Yeah, that'd be fun.
So the rest of the questions are kind of more for directed at Ann and I, you know, our opinions or our favorites or whatever. So let's get into those. The first one is this is a very specific question. What are your top three favorite songs from the Charlie's Angels soundtrack? So I went through on IMDb like every song that's in the movie. I didn't just use like the ones that made it to the official soundtrack and my choices would be smack my bitch up because the use of it in the movie. I think I went on and on about it, our Charlie's Angels episode.
Like I love it so. Freaky. So perfect. Song 2 by Blur, which is just like such a fun song, so great. And then all the small things Blink 182 because it makes me like super happy. And I think about the end of the movie with the bloopers and. Yeah, I love it. I love your choices already. I just had to say I always get pumped when I hear Barracuda. So I don't know if it was my list maybe I would replace. I don't know. I love the all the small things but I might replace that with Barracuda as like a pump up.
Sort of like song. Yeah, I almost I almost put that on the list cuz it is so. Barracuda, Barracuda, so good. OK, so next question for us, did Drew somehow influence your musical preferences? I love this question. The first thing that came to my mind was The Strokes, because I definitely got into the Strokes when she was dating Fabrizio Moretti. And like, I might have anyway because they were very much in the ether and they were all around. And I, you know, I was listening to K Rock and of course I was going to listen to The Strokes, but I feel like I got really into them because of her dating him.
And I mean, I still really love them. Like I tried to go see them when they came to Vegas last year and I did not have any luck and I'm still mad about it. But yeah, they. So that's the like first one I think of, but there's definitely been so many songs like The Beatles song. I will, you know, like I went and found that when I knew she liked, right. Like I've definitely been influenced by her. Her musical taste is way broader than mine. Super broad she likes. Everything. She likes a lot of stuff and I feel like she doesn't.
She didn't necessarily influence my musical preferences, but I do remember, I think I looked up Mazzy Star because of her love for the song Blue Light. And if I hear that, of course, me too. Yeah. So if I hear that, and I love Mazzy Star, so I feel like me too being introduced by her and her story has made me like, yes, stick with oh, my God, Like, same. But it would have been those things. Like, if I heard it, I would have liked it anyway. Like, maybe like what you're saying. But like, I definitely still blink it.
Like if I hear The Strokes, I'm thinking of Fab and Drew, you know, And if I hear that song Blue Light, I'm thinking of Drew and Erick Erlinson. We're in the whole. Holy back in the whole We can't. Get out of it. Get out. Of it, yeah. There's just so many songs that I'm like, oh, I know this because of Drew or like she put this in one of her movies and I like it because it has that affiliation. Yeah. She's like a great person to influence your musical preferences and she still has those. Like I think there's like up to 31 playlists on Spotify.
Remember when I like got on that project where I like saved, I did like a spreadsheet of all I. Forgot that you did that. So yeah, I mean her, her taste is all over the place and she's a music aficionado. Yes, she is. OK, Next question is what's your number one item to get for your collection? So I think that means most wanted item that we don't already have. My recent in my mind I've been thinking about this and I'll tell you why currently I really would love to have a book from her personal library with her annotations We talked about this I know yeah.
Because like in in style 99, she said how whenever she finishes a book she writes Dee Barrymore in the front I think is what she says and we know she annotates the shit out of her books like she'll bring them on to her show when she's interviewing the authors and like she'll show her personal copy and it's like dog eared underlined her writing is everywhere. That would be a dream to me. And one of the reasons I've been thinking about it lately is I become friendly with the girl who runs the Shelley Duvall Archive.
Do you know? Yeah. And she just, like, at a secondhand bookstore, found a book that was Shelley's, and it was like, gonna be for a film. So there's tons of notes in it. Like, Oh my God, that is the dream. Like that is incredible. That's so cool. I mean, I'm basically basically I would say the same thing or something similar, but what I just thought of as like an annotated script would be really cool. Too totally. Oh I would love that. Like does she saved her scripts? I I it's so hard to know she's never.
And I'll just go back to the book thing, I guess. She says she like never gets rid of books too. Yeah, it's like, I know. I thought about that when I was this. I'm like bled. It's never going to happen. We'll just have to ask her for it. Can you donate like one of your favorite most annotated books? And we will keep it in the archive. We'll preserve it for you. The other item that like is another recent thing that I have to mention is the butterfly wings from Mark Seliger's photo shoot for U.S. magazine.
The issue that came out in 1997 but was shot in 96. I recently lost out on those on an auction and I'm still very very sad about it And I'm like, it was. So crazy for them to come up in the first place. I know they were like perfectly preserved, beautiful, and I don't know who bought them. I don't know who outbid me. If you're out there, please know that we want them more than you do. Maybe. It's maybe it's Drew. Drew got them all right, fine. She has them. She's a lot. Yeah, this. But anyone else this question about like things we want for our collection.
I feel like it's always really hard. We like have so much. We could go on. For but it's also like the things that we want are things almost that we don't know exist, you know, like that's kind of the hard thing, like because we have such such big collection, like if you think of it all as a whole, it's quite it's quite vast, y'all. OK, next question is favorite Co star besides Cameron Diaz or Adam Sandler? OK so I was just trying to think like who's my personal favorite person who's been in films with her?
It's got to be Matthew Lillard who's in Mad Love and Scream even though they barely appear on screen together. They never speak to each other on either. Like she's like outside the window in Mad Love when he's like they share a shot for like 2 seconds. And that's as much as I've gotten because I just love him. And I won't go off on a tangent, but I see him having this like, resurgence. What's going on right now is wild. And like, I'm so happy for him. You know what? I was just thinking about that picture, the like of the first time you met him from like 99 and how like he's always at like conventions like that's he like does them a lot.
And I was thinking about. The funny thing is that convention was not a fan convention. So that was like an industry only you had to have like a badge you it was not like something you could buy tickets to and it was for video store owners. So like that's obviously, yeah. So all these celebrities would come to like promote their movie that was or whatever that they had coming out on video. And so like the studio would send them funny. So yeah, it was kind of like a pre convention convention. Now he does them all the time, but I'm like, oh, like I met you at one that wasn't for fans, but it turned me into fans.
He's such he's. So sweet with fans. My God beyond and he's still like every once in a while he'll message me on Instagram and I'm just like, what is my life? He's like Mila is so grown up. House is happening. I'm like, how do you know who my child is? So funny. OK, so my answer to this question, you made me think of another one, but I I put Sam Rockwell. I mean, we I we always love seeing him withdrew. I mean, this is different because I'm talking about like somebody that's like the connection. But then when you said, like, one of your favorite people, I'm like, OK, Jake Gyllenhaal.
Also is like. One of my favorite Co stars of hers, but in a different way, you know? So that's a perfect answer. I guess if I was going to say in a like as a Co star specifically, I think Sam is probably the best answer you could give because like their their chemistry is so good together and I just love seeing them on screen together. So perfect answer. Nice one. I like that. Yours was good too. We. Cannot mention Matthew Lillard every once in a while. He's just so lovely. All right, this one is.
What is your favorite? Drew B? Not Drew B, Drew Space B era. So I have like personal nostalgia for 9899 because that is when I was becoming an Uber fan. So anything from that time I get like sentimental about, but I don't feel like anything can top 9495 because of the feeling of excitement that I get when something from that like bubbles up or surfaces like, and just how freaking cool, effortlessly cool she was at that time. What did Melissa call her? A beautiful Pixie Stardust. Yeah, yeah, like exactly that, Exactly that.
Basically, I'm saying I'm going to say the same thing as you. I'm just extending the timeline from 94 to 96 because of the black hair and she still seems like the effortless coolness. I mean, it's it's so funny. Like we talk about so much how like time is so weird and how like, you know, 98 is not that long after 95. But it feels like she was just her career was changing so much and she was like becoming this like sweetheart more than this, like Pixie, like wild girl, you know, that she was in like 100, you know, so totally different vibes.
So I'm like the same. We love the same. And it's funny because 96 is like the bridge, right? It's where she, and we think it's because of her relationships a little bit, but she goes from the like wild, you know, hanging with hole to the like a little more sophisticated and branching into different types of jobs and all that. And thinking about family and like. Yeah, yeah. I mean. Even like the dark hair sort of like brings her into this like different phase of her life. Like, I don't know. Going.
Dark. She's like, I'm going dark. I'm growing up. I don't know. I love it. I love it. OK, second to last question, what is your all time favorite moment in Drew history? This is really hard like. That is, I was like, I wrote impossible because like, how do you pick one moment? Yeah, but like, and this isn't my answer. I'm just saying like where my mind goes to automatically is something where she was like really honored or recognized. So some of the things like I can't say these are my favorites, but some of the things I would say would be like getting the Hollywood Walk of Fame star in 2004, so special.
Like getting the Golden Globe Award in 2010. Even her 50th birthday episode is really, really special. Not just because we were there, but like seeing her get to reunite with the Wards and like getting that honorary doctorate or whatever wish that they gave her. Like, anything where she was really like, given recognition for being as awesome as she is is very like, special. I basically couldn't answer it. Like I'm like all time favorite moment? Yeah, I mean 1 moment. I was like. Oh, like I was like thinking like, oh, like her flashing David Letterman is kind of fun, but like it's not my favorite moment in her whole history that it's really that's a that's a great question.
But also, like you can see, we're interested in so much of Drew's history and like we have a podcast that goes into so much. So I like the question, but it's it's too hard. We like too much of her long public life and history like. I mean, essentially almost 50 years. Yeah, that's hard to pick. One little tiny break. Right. I like where you went though, because then it's like, you know, that's what we want. We want her to be celebrated. That's what we're doing. So exactly. OK, final question, and this comes from the lovely Tony Crago, who if you guys don't know, he worked with Drew as her assistant for several years.
He's been on the podcast twice. He's awesome and he's very supportive of us because his question is, when are you going to have DB on the podcast? It's time. Good question, Tony. I like your thinking, yes. We are wondering the same thing, but we do not have an answer. No, but he did give us some like helpful advice and support and I'm not ruling it out. I think it's within our reach and I think it will happen one day. That's that's what I got. To say, and I think that there is that like of course manifesting that we're doing, but also like it feels very.
Possible. Yeah, as weird as that is to say, it does feel attainable. Guys, somehow, somehow that that is that is possible. Somehow she knows who we are. I know, that's so crazy. Crazy weird. Yes, all right. OK, that's it. That's all the questions. We did get like some other like comments and some people like trying to talk directly to Drew through that, that Channel that doesn't work. Guys doesn't, sorry. Much like the people who send us emails about their beautiful items not working the way they want, You can't.
You can't send that stuff to Drew through US. We're sorry. We're very sorry that we can't get your messages complaining about her pants to her. Or her her pants and pants. As our most recent emails stated, these people are a little out there. A little bit, a little bit, guys. Thank you so much for all of your questions though these. What we're fun to do is just kind of like something different. Something different, Yeah. I was gonna say like kind of change the format a little, break it up a little bit and you know, hopefully people enjoy hearing U.S. chat with each other and that's really what.
